In the first few years when I started modeling, I was still trying to learn as much as I could. Among these was trying out high-poly modeling and HDRI rendering. I rarely ever finished a complete high-poly model as my time was mainly invested in game development. I found a few of my models that I worked on in those first few years of modeling. Perhaps some day I will pick this up again and finish a few of these.

Duel Truck

One of my all time favorite movies is Steven Spielberg’s 1971 Duel. So one day I decided to create my very own game version model of the truck. I spent a lot time in finding the little details from shots of the movie and pictures available online of the last remaining truck and trailer. There is not one unique version to choose from as they used three different trucks when shooting the film. Below you can see some my progress from blockout phase to final. The truck and trailer ended up being around 10.000 triangles and uses two 1024×1024 texture maps.
